The Community-based Mental Health (CBMH) program helps reduce barriers and increase access to mental health support for students and families by offering an outpatient mental health clinic within Greendale High School. Through this CBMH program, any Greendale Middle or High School student is able to participate in individual therapy sessions with a licensed mental health provider during the school day. Therapy sessions will be provided by licensed mental health professionals through Kettle Moraine Counseling. Sessions are delivered in a confidential therapy space that aligns with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines.
Any parent/guardian, staff, or student can refer to CBMH. Links to refer are found on the right side of this page. When a referral is made, a district pupil services team member receives the referral and begins next steps, which include sending the concerns and guardian contact information (with your signed parent/guardian permission) to the clinic. The clinic will contact the guardian to inquire about insurance and appointment time preferences. When that is complete, the student can begin sessions with the therapist at their school.
Other important information:
-
The partnered clinic–currently Kettle Moraine Counseling Clinic– may accept both private and government insurance or offer a sliding payment scale. Should you need help applying for government insurance, please ask your students’ building pupil service member.
-
Therapy sessions happen during the school day or after school. The therapist(s) may or may not offer evening or weekend sessions based on their availability.
-
The therapist(s) are in GHS and GMS approximately 3-4x/week, but the time varies. This is something you can discuss with the clinic when they connect with you about preferred appointment times.
-
Your student can still access their building pupil service members while receiving therapy through CBMH. CBMH functions just as any other community-based provider would.
-
The therapist through CBMH and your students’ building pupil services members only communicate and coordinate care with your and your student’s permission via a release of information.
