Students are the first priority of Greendale Schools. The district strives to ensure all students feel a sense of belonging and connection to the school community in a safe and supportive learning environment. All individuals are welcome in our community! For those students, staff, and families who have immigrated and/ or speak languages other than English in their homes, the district is committed to providing communication and access to all languages.
Greendale Schools English Learners program helps students who speak a language other than English in their home to develop English language skills that will enable the students to function successfully in an all English classroom and complete the district's required curriculum. Expert staff specially trained to support English learners work directly with students and families.
The Greendale Schools' program includes the implementation of curricular and instructional modifications, the assessment of the student's academic progress, identification of EL students that achieve English Language Proficiency (ELP), and continued monitoring of ELP students. The degree of modification, the duration, and the type of services are decided based on the individual needs of each student.
