Kathleen (Kathy) Wied-Vincent was elected to the Greendale Board of Education in 2017. Ms. Wied-Vincent (daughter of Abner & Joanne Wied) grew up in Greendale along with her eight siblings and graduated from Greendale High School. She has been a resident/homeowner in the Village since 2012 and has served our community in a variety of ways including membership on Greendale School District’s Strategic Priority Committee; Greendale Original Neighborhood Association (GONA)-Board Member; Greendale Against Bullying-Past Board Member, Greendale Police Department's Citizen Police Academy and she is a member of the Greendale Lion's Club service organization. She has also volunteered for programs with her sled dogs at the Greendale Public Library and for Greendale Entertainment Association’s Winterfest.
Ms. Wied-Vincent has served as the Board Clerk, Board President, on the Welcoming Diversity Steering Committee, and as the WASB Delegate while serving on the Greendale School Board.
Ms. Wied-Vincent is a proud graduate of Greendale High School (Class of ’85). She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from UW-Milwaukee and her Master’s of Education degree from Silver Lake College. She has served as a classroom teacher; Gifted & Talented Coordinator and Specialist; and K-12 Literacy Specialist in several school districts throughout Southeastern Wisconsin (including six years teaching in Greendale). She currently teaches 8th grade English in the Kenosha Unified School District.
Ms. Wied-Vincent has two adult children, her daughter Allie and son Tyler (an Eagle Scout). In her free time, she enjoys reading and is an avid outdoorswoman who can be found camping, hiking and mushing her sled dogs down trails across Wisconsin.
