Attention all GMS Students and Families!

Our first Student Activity Night of the year will be held this upcoming Wednesday, November 19, from 3:30-5:00pm at GMS. All GMS students are invited to attend. Our GMS National Junior Honor Society is sponsoring this specific Student Activity Night and will be coordinating volunteers for it.

Students who are interested in attending must print off and bring a signed Permission Slip, along with the $5 fee, to Activity Night on November 19. Permission slips will also be handed out by students' Homebase teachers, as well.

Please note the following:
Only current GMS students may attend this.
When school is dismissed at 3:10pm on the 19th, all students who are attending Student Activity Night should either:
Leave school and come back by 3:30pm OR
Report to the MPR and stay there until it begins. We will collect money and forms from them at this time.
Once students are in the building, they must stay for the entire event until 5:00pm. If they need to leave early, a parent/guardian must come into the building to pick them up.
Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.

This Student Activity Night will be from 3:30-5:00pm, but future ones will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

We are excited to see you on November 19!

GMS students were fortunate to have a visit from Scottish author Struan Murray recently. The event was coordinated by Boswell Books. Mr. Murray shared a bit about his brand new book, "Dragonborn", his writing process, and even drew us our own GMS dragon! Students who preordered the book were able to have their copies signed by him. It was a great event celebrating literacy!

Sixth graders became scientists "out in the field" during the Life Science field trip this week. Students gathered both qualitative and quantitative observations using as many of their senses as possible. Then the students made inferences from these observations based on their experiences. It was a great blend of learning and fun for all.

Greendale High School's award-winning Theatre Department is thrilled to present the hilarious comedy, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG (High School Edition), Thursday, November 6, Friday, November 7, and Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. each night.

This silly farce is still running on Broadway and has audiences rolling in the aisles. As a drama troupe prepares for their opening night of their murder mystery, they are almost (?) ready to perform and with a very hardworking cast and crew, they do their best to make it through their opening night performance. But, well, not everything goes to plan... so join GHS Theatre to see how it turns out!

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG is suitable for the entire family! Running time 1 hour 45 minutes including an intermission. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for all students and all tickets are general admission and available at the door.

The 2025 Reading Rampage, sponsored by the Greendale Public Library, was a great success last Saturday. Middle schoolers enjoyed a day of reading and relaxing with hourly prize drawings, snacks, and fun. Reading Rampage is an annual event that promotes literacy for students in grades 6-8. Many thanks to the library and its team for supporting our students and helping to build their love of reading!

On Friday evening, September 26, Greendale Middle School hosted our annual P.R.I.D.E (character education program that focuses on Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Diligence & Empathy) kickoff tailgate party. The event took place on the east front lawn of the school. Lots of families turned out for a grilled picnic dinner and the chance to visit with other families. Afterwards, some members of the crowd walked over to Greendale High School to watch the Greendale Varsity Football Team defeat South Milwaukee in the Panthers' Homecoming Game.

Eight grade Algebra students practiced solving one-step and two-step equations with an Escape Room activity. Students had three levels of puzzles to solve, each level giving them a code to unlock the next level. The activity soon became a race to see who would escape and who could do so the fastest (all while Mission Impossible theme music played in the background). It is exciting to watch our Panthers so eager to learn!
