Fourth grade students visited school classrooms and common spaces at College Park recently seeking inspiration for their poems, "I Hear College Park Signing." The students recently read the poem "I Hear America Singing" in CKLA. The walk through their school allowed them to hear and observe the sounds at their school as they prepared for their own poetry writing.

College Park students are enjoying the storywalk for Native American Heritage Month. Set up along the sidewalk that runs in front of the school, all are welcome to take a walk outside and enjoy the story! The book featured is "Dance Fast," written and illustrated by AR Cribbons who is a member of the Pomo tribe. It's a wonderful story that celebrates Pomo traditions and provides a good lesson about creativity and perfectionism. Thanks to the library team for creating this innovative way for us to celebrate. Come check it out!

For the third consecutive year, College Park fourth graders coordinated a sock drive in October. Creatively named "Socktober," these Panthers create announcements and deliver them to the school. Students set a goal to collect, count newly donated socks over the lunch hour, add them to the total, and determine the number of socks left to reach their goal. The donations are delivered to those in need through St. Ben's Community Meal Program and Capuchin Community Services, in partnership with St. Mary Parish in Hales Corners. This year, the fourth graders collected a total of 1,067 pairs of socks! To date, our students and families have donated 3,160 pairs for people in need.

Thanks to all who supported this project!
