GHS welcomed 153 members of the Class of 2030 to Freshman Transition Day at the school on Monday. Students had an opportunity to tour the school, see their Freshman schedules and walk to classrooms. They also learned more about extracurricular opportunities, student responsibilities and policies, and heard "insiders' 'tips" from upperclassmen. Students also had a chance to meet other members of their class and enjoy lunch. It was a great morning for building community and belonging to launch Freshman year!

Each summer, Greendale Schools’ families are required to review and confirm or update their student and family information. We call this process Back to School Check in/OLR (Online Registration). Back to School Check In/OLR is open! School families should complete this process before August 14!

Child Development Days 2026-2027 Dates Set
Child Development Days screening is available to all Greendale resident children 3-4 years of age who are NOT enrolled in Greendale Schools' 4K Program. The event is held at Highland View, 5900 South 51st Street, and offers important screening of your child(ren)'s school readiness, including: speech and language development, reading readiness, social-emotional maturity, fine and gross motor skills and vision and hearing. Families also receive information on normal child growth and development and have access to developmental resources and informational handouts. Participants can share refreshments and receive a free gift for their children. Child Development Days are held on select dates by appointment only. Schedule an appointment by calling (414) 423-2713.

Greendale's Junior Panthers U8 Baseball Program is open to incoming 1st and 2nd graders! This is a great opportunity for young players to learn the game, build skills, and represent their hometown team. Tryouts for the team are coming soon, Wednesdays, July 15 and 22, 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at Highland View Field. The Greendale High School Band has been invited to participate in the London Parade and Festival 2028 on January 1, 2028, in London, England. The London Parade is one of the world’s premier marching band events and is a tradition that began in 1987 with just 2,000 performers. Over its 40 years, it has grown into a world-class celebration featuring participants from the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond, with a reach of 500 million viewers each year.
The Greendale Marching Band has made numerous high profile appearances, including participating twice in both the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City (2016, 2023) and the Rose Parade (2020, 2026) in Pasadena, California. The London New Year’s Day Parade represents the band’s first international appearance. Check out an announcement video here.
The sun shined brightly on the GHS Class of 2026 as Greendale High School celebrated commencement on Saturday, June 13. Incoming Freshman: Attend Transition Day at GHS
Members of the GHS Class of 2030 (the 2026-2027 incoming Freshman) are invited to attend a FREE Incoming Freshman Transition Day on Monday, August 17, 8:25 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Greendale High School. Doors open at 8:10 a.m.
Join us for opportunities to tour the school, see your Freshman schedule and walk to your classrooms, learn more about extracurricular opportunities, get to know fellow classmates, and hear "insiders' 'tips" from upperclassmen. We will end the transition day with lunch.
All incoming freshmen are encouraged to attend. Sign up by July 17 by filling out the form linked here. Families are responsible for providing transportation to and from the event. As an outdoor event, focused on having a safe summer, we're obviously prioritizing participant safety, and that means we had to make the sad decision to cancel the event tonight. We're brainstorming ways to bring the event back some time this summer, and hope we'll still be able to showcase all the fun, safe, and enriching opportunities our community has to offer!
For those of you willing to brave the weather, a few kids activities will still be available in the community room downstairs in the Greendale Library between 3:00-7:00PM.

Members of the Canterbury Service Club created more than 100 hygiene kits for clients of Milwaukee's Street Angels. With generous donations from the school community, the students assembled the kits and wrote individual messages to include in the bag with the personal care items. Service Club is composed of 50 fourth and fifth graders at the school. Serving others in our community is an important attribute of a Greendale student. Many thanks to all who participated in the project.
The Founding Fathers were busy 250 years ago. Canterbury's first graders had a fun day celebrating everything they learned about the Revolutionary War and our country's beginnings. They made crafts of some of our country's symbols and even tried to write with quills (it is not as easy as it looks!). Students also learned about Memorial Day and how important it is to remember and honor all of the fallen soldiers who have fought for our freedom.
Greendale High School celebrated the student-athletes who have chosen to continue competing in the sport while in college. Congratulations to these Panthers who participated in high school athletics at an elite level. Best wishes in your future adventures! GHS Sources of Strength Members presented at the 2026 Greendale Health Department Mental Health Across the Lifespan breakfast. This gathering brought together local legislators, community members, organizations, and health professionals to foster open dialogue, shared learning, and collaborative discussion around mental health challenges, available resources, and opportunities for collective action across all ages.
