Thor Misko, Vice President
Thor Misko was elected to the Greendale Board of Education in 2019. Prior to being elected to the Board, he has volunteered in a variety of roles throughout the District. Mr. Misko leads the Greendale Schools' Community Partnership Team, serves on the Panther Community Facility Advisory Committee, and represents the Board of Education on the Greendale Park and Recreation Committee.
Professionally, Mr. Misko is program director at The Kern Family Foundation helping universities transform their engineering programs. He earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), with specialties in building electrical systems and building environmental systems. He is also a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, a U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional, and is pursuing a master’s degree from MSOE in engineering management with a master’s certificate in project management and knowledge management.
Mr. Misko serves the broader community as a Board Member on the MSOE Corporation Board, the Ahrens Foundation (supporting career and technical education throughout Wisconsin), and the Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome (WSS) Foundation.
Mr. Misko is a long-time supporter of the community. His mother, commonly known in the Village as Coach Meri, made Greendale an integral part of his life since childhood. Mr. Misko and his wife, Lisa are blessed with three children; Ziva (Class of 2030), Ryker (Class of 2034), and Myla (Class of 2036).
