Joe Crapitto, Board Clerk
WASB Level 4
Joe Crapitto was elected to the Greendale Board of Education in 2009. After serving as vice-president of the Board, he was elected its president in 2012. In 2022 he was elected Board Clerk. He has participated in the Board’s Policy Committee, and has represented the Greendale School Board at the WASB Delegate Assembly. He has been involved with the development of multiple Greendale school’s strategic plans.
While on the Board, Mr. Crapitto has participated in offerings from the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB), the Closing the Achievement Gap Consortium (CAGC) and the National School Board Association (NSBA). In 2020, he was recognized by WASB for his commitment to Wisconsin public school students and his participation in its professional development opportunities.
Prior to joining the Board, Mr. Crapitto served on the school district’s Budget & Finance Committee and was an active member of the College Park and Greendale Middle School PTOs, having served in leadership roles with both organizations. More recently, he has been an avid supporter and volunteer of the GHS theatre program, orchestra, marching band, men’s soccer and cheer team.
Mr. Crapitto has over twenty-five years of finance and accounting experience, working in various accounting, internal audit, and financial operation roles in private industry. Currently, he is Finance Manager at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University, where he majored in accounting and French. A resident of Greendale since 1999, Mr. Crapitto and his wife, Lynn, have four children who attended Greendale Schools: Peter (Class of 2013), Gabrielle (2015), Andrew (2018), and Sam (2021).
